EFT & Coaching services

What is EFT?

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. These techniques help to gently release emotional stress, and increase feelings of calm and well-being. Clinical EFT has been tested in over 125 clinical trials. It is sometimes just called “tapping” because this describes the physical movement of the techniques. Clinical EFT works by tapping two or more fingers on certain pressure points or end points of the Chinese Meridian System on the face and upper part of the body, while talking about an issue or point of focus in a certain way. It helps to manage stress because it has a calming effect on specific parts of the brain. Some people call it “psychological acupuncture,” a version of acupuncture that doesn’t use any needles but still calms us down. These techniques can have a powerful transformational effect when used together with a trauma-informed highly trained practitioner, or as a self-help tool.

Coaching

Coaching is a developmental process where a trained person, called a coach, helps you achieve a specific goal by partnering with you to help you take the actions, build the skills and grow and transform in the necessary ways you need to, in order to achieve your goal. A good coach asks the right questions. She provides a motivating environment, feedback, recognition and support as you progress towards your chosen future. She helps you stretch and grow into the person you need to be in order to live that future.

Although I have had specialised training in partnering with women to reach their goals, as my certification badge here shows, I happily work with all genders to reach their chosen goals.

Combining Coaching with EFT Tapping

Surprisingly, we sometimes really get in our own way mentally and emotionally as we try to reach our goals. EFT Tapping can help us get back out of the way. It adds a somatic component to conventional coaching. Strong emotions and trauma are not just stored in the mind, but also in the body. Emotions are often experienced in the body as physical sensations (tightness in the chest, butterflies in the stomach, holding your breath). Strong emotions and trauma can lead to dissociation, where people feel disconnection from their bodies and what they want in life. It can also dysregulate the nervous system, leading to a constant state of hyperarousal (fight or flight) or hypoarousal (freeze). These states can really block us from reaching our goals. They also decrease our sense of well-being. EFT tapping helps to bring the nervous system back into balance, facilitating a sense of safety and calm. When we are in a better state of mind and body, we are much better able to pursue important goals and move forward in life.
